Tokyo Confirms 2,549 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 2,549 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Saturday.

The figure is down about 900 from a week ago, the 15th straight day of week-on-week decline.

Officials said that seven people infected with the virus had died.

They also said the number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines was three, up one from Friday.
