Tokyo Confirms 29,416 New Cases Of Coronavirus

Tokyo metropolitan government officials confirmed 29,416 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Wednesday.

The figure is 4,827 fewer than a week ago.

Officials said 35 patients were on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines, down one from Tuesday.

They also reported 25 deaths.

Japan confirmed 231,499 new cases nationwide, as well as 627 seriously ill patients and 286 deaths.
