The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 3,357 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday.

The figure is down about 1,700 from a week ago.

The daily tally has been down week-on-week for 22 straight days.

Tokyo officials reported four deaths from the virus on Tuesday.

The number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines in the capital is 11, up one from Monday.
