Tokyo Confirms 591 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government confirmed 591 new coronavirus cases in the capital on Wednesday.

The figure is the highest since the second state of emergency was lifted last month.

It's also the second consecutive day that the daily tally has topped 500.

The number of people who have tested positive in Tokyo now stands at 127,385.

Officials say 41 people are in serious condition. The number remained unchanged from Tuesday.
