Tokyo Logs Rise In Seven - Day Average Of Infections

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 453 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday.
The figure is up 18 from a week ago, marking a week-on-week increase for the third straight day.
The seven-day average number of new cases through Friday stands at 389, an increase of 0.7 percent from a week earlier. This the first time the Japanese capital posted a rise in the weekly average since May 17.
Tokyo officials say 42 coronavirus patients are in serious condition, up two from Thursday.
They have reported a total of 168,321 infections and 2,192 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
