Tokyo Reports 2,514 New Cases Of Coronavirus On Tuesday
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 2,514 new cases of coronavirus infection in the capital on Tuesday.
The figure was up 551 from the same day a week before, and marked the eleventh straight day of week-on-week increases.
The seven-day average through Tuesday stood at 2,159.7. That was up 28.4 percent from the previous week.
Tokyo officials reported that two people died from the virus.
They said five patients were seriously ill and on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines, up one from Monday.
