Tokyo Reports 3,788 New Coronavirus Cases On Sunday

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 3,788 new coronavirus cases in the capital on Sunday.

The figure was up 1,784 from a week ago, and marked the 16th straight day of week-on-week increases.

Tokyo officials said that the number of seriously ill patients on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines is five, the same figure as Saturday.

They reported that one patient in his 90s died from COVID-19.
