Tokyo Reports 534 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 534 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Saturday.

The figure is up 146 from last Saturday, marking a week-on-week increase of more than 100 for the fourth day in a row.

The daily tally also marked a week-on-week increase for the seventh consecutive day.

The seven-day average number of cases through Saturday stands at 476. That is 126 percent of the figure a week ago.

Tokyo officials also say that the capital had 37 patients with serious coronavirus symptoms on Saturday, down one from the previous day.
