Tokyo Reports 635 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 635 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Sunday.

The number topped 600 on a Sunday for the first time since January 31.

The figure is up 92 from last Sunday, and marks a week-on-week increase for the 25th straight day.

The daily average for the seven days up to Sunday is 727.1, or 24 percent more than the previous seven-day period.

The total number of people who have tested positive for the virus in the capital now stands at 135,173.
