Tokyo Reports 660 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 660 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Friday.

The daily tally is up 98 from a week ago. Week-on-week increases have been posted for 13 days straight.

The seven-day average number of cases up to Friday stands at 537. That's 118 percent of the figure reported a week ago.

Tokyo officials say 54 people are in serious condition, up three from Thursday.

They also say that two people have died. This brings the total number of fatalities to 2,238.
