Totsuka Wins World Title In Snowboard Halfpipe

Japanese snowboarder Totsuka Yuto won his first title in the men's halfpipe at the world championships in the US state of Colorado on Saturday.
Participants compete on the height and degree of difficulty of their jumps.
Nineteen-year-old Totsuka came in second in the qualifying round. He led in the final after scoring 93 on his second run, and then successfully landed one jump after another on his final run, for a score of 96.25.
Totsuka beat Australia's Scotty James, who had won three consecutive world titles. Totsuka becomes the first Japanese snowboarder to win the title since Aono Ryo in 2009.
