Ugandan Olympian Ends Covid Quarantine In Japan

A member of Uganda's Olympic team who tested positive for the coronavirus upon arrival in Japan has traveled to the western Japanese city that will host his training camp after completing his 10-day quarantine.
The member tested positive at Narita Airport near Tokyo when the team arrived in Japan on June 19, and stayed at a state-designated facility. The member arrived in Izumisano in Osaka Prefecture on a chartered bus on Thursday.
The other eight members transferred to the city after testing negative at the airport. But one of them later tested positive for the virus in Izumisano. The remaining seven were designated by health authorities as having had close contact with the infected person, and will not be allowed to leave their hotel until Tuesday next week.
The person who arrived in Izumisano on Thursday is said to be staying on a different floor of the hotel to avoid any contact with his fellow team members.
The city authorities say they will work with national and prefectural officials to conduct tests and take other measures to deal with the matter. They also say they will consult health centers to decide when the team can start their training.
