Video Captures Suspect's Movements In Run - Up To Shooting
Video taken by an audience member shows the movements of the suspect in the shooting of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo.
The video begins shortly before Abe started his speech.
It shows the suspect, Yamagami Tetsuya, standing beside a red banner near a footpath behind Abe, checking his surroundings.
One minute and 10 seconds into the speech, Yamagami starts walking. He walks for about 10 seconds to the right side of the screen, stops and watches the former prime minister.
Yamagami stands there for 40 seconds. When he moves again, he looks into his bag and takes something out.
He walks slowly toward Abe at an angle from behind, coming within several meters of him.
The suspect raises a gun and immediately fires a shot, two minutes and 20 seconds into Abe's speech.
Yamagami fires a second shot a few seconds later, and Abe collapses.
The gunman takes a few steps backwards but doesn't try to flee, and is subdued by Abe's security guards.
