Yosozumi Leads Japan's Podium Sweep At X Games Women's Skateboard Park Event
Olympic skateboarding champion Yosozumi Sakura has led a podium sweep by Japanese athletes in the women's park competition at one of the world's largest action sports events.
The three-day X Games kicked off in the city of Chiba near Tokyo on Friday, making their debut in Japan.
On Day 2, Yosozumi took part in the finals of the park event, in which competitors skated on a bowl-shaped course.
Yosozumi claimed her first X Games title with a trick that involved one-and-a-half rotations in midair without grabbing the board.
Thirteen-year-old Hiraki Kokona finished second, followed by Tezuka Mami.
At last year's Tokyo Olympics, Yosozumi and Hiraki took gold and silver, respectively, in the park segment.
