Honda has unveiled its 2020 Civic Type R Pace Car which will lead the NTT IndyCar Series field at this weekend's Bommarito Automotive Group race weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway near St. Louis, Missouri.

TOKYO — A Japanese mobility venture has unveiled two adapted vans, one which can serve as a workspace or a mobile shop, and another that pumps fresh air through the vehicle to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading between passengers.

It is the first commercial offering from Monet, a joint venture between SoftBank Corp and Toyota Motor Corp.

UTSUNOMIYA, Japan — Many automakers are betting on sedans and SUVs in the switch to electric cars. And Tesla is only now realizing that it needs a cheaper, smaller hatchback for overseas markets. But Honda already has that car, deciding smaller is better for its first-ever all-battery EV.

The Honda e was released in Europe earlier this month. It's an upscale, compact model meant solely for city driving. That contrasts with Tesla, whose Model 3 sedan dominates the battery EV market, and others such as Audi AG and Hyundai that are focusing more on SUVs with long driving ranges.

NEW YORK — Honda Motor Co has agreed to pay $85 million (64.7 million pounds) to settle an investigation by most U.S. states into its use of defective Takata airbag inflators in its vehicles, according to a consent order made public on Tuesday.

The state probes are connected with the ongoing recalls of tens of millions of vehicles equipped with potentially defective Takata inflators that were sold by Honda and other major auto manufacturers over the past 20 years.

Mazda has updated the 2021 Mazda CX-5 with a couple notable changes in the new model year. It's the brand's best seller by a longshot, and we think buyers of the 2021 car will like what Mazda has done.

The infotainment system is new this year, as Mazda has yanked its new screen and software out of the Mazda3 and CX-30 for duty in the CX-5. That means there's a new 10.25-inch high-resolution widescreen sitting atop the dash, and the software it's running is much improved over the previous Mazda infotainment. It's also the end of the touchscreen, because Mazda has designed this new system to be exclusively operated by a rotary dial. Previously, you could operate the CX-5's screen via touch if the vehicle was stopped. We prefer the new system greatly over the old interface, so this is a big upgrade. The new screen comes standard on the base Sport trim, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard.

Cars & Bids, a relatively new site that specializes in auctioning modern enthusiast cars, is selling a 2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata. While that's hardly unusual, this example lost its four-cylinder engine and gained a Jaguar-sourced V6.

Pulling a 3.0-liter six out of a 2000 S-Type and dropping it into an unsuspecting Miata is apparently easier than it sounds. England-based Rocketeer offers a kit that makes the swap reasonably straightforward, though the listing notes the factory air conditioning system is not compatible with the new engine. Cold air aside, the installation is done so neatly that it looks like Mazda envisioned the Miata with a bigger engine. Jag's V6 inevitably adds weight to a roadster praised globally for its nimble handling, but it also brings a whole lot of horsepower to the table.

While the hot hatches from Honda that most people are familiar bear the Type R moniker, there was a time when the flagship performance Civic was dubbed the ‘Si'.

Earlier in the year, Papadakis Racing previewed an epic Toyota Supra drift car it was building for driver Fredric Aasbø. Work on the car recently wrapped up and the guys over at Hoonigan have had the opportunity to check it out in person.

Mazda is giving us all of the turbos, and we're not going to complain. CarsDirect reports that the 2021 Mazda CX-30 will feature a turbocharged variant called the CX-30 2.5 Turbo. We have great confidence that this intel obtained via "an early order guide" is legit. The CX-30 is essentially a lifted and crossover-ized Mazda3, and Mazda announced the Turbo variant of that car a short time ago.

Just like the Mazda3, CarsDirect reports this one will be equipped with Mazda's 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It'll make 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque when run on 93 octane. Use regular gas, and those numbers tick down to 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet. The CX-30 is currently only available with the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.

Pricing details for the 2021 Nissan Titan have been announced in the United States.

The 2021 Acura TLX will start at $38,525 (including a $1,025 destination fee) when it arrives in dealerships this fall. The flagship Type S model, which will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6, will not arrive until spring, and while Acura has not yet finalized pricing, we're told it will start above the $50,000 mark. 

The $38,525 base price of the 2021 TLX makes it $4,500 more dear than the model it replaces, but competitive with most of its luxury peers, largely thanks to its far more potent base engine. In fact, the 272-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo mill in the 2021 model in only down 18 horsepower from the V6 offered as the upgraded engine in the 2020. The new also TLX gets an updated platform that brings back its traditional double-wishbone front suspension, introduces a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and marks the return of the sporty Type S to the model lineup.
