2022 Honda Civic Sedan Spy Photos Seem To Confirm Patent Images

2022 Honda Civic sedan spy photos seem to confirm patent images

We've had surprisingly good looks at the 2022 Honda Civic sedan and hatchback so far, mainly thanks to patent drawings that surfaced on the internet. But we haven't seen it very clearly in the sheetmetal, or at least we hadn't until one of our spy photographers sent us the above photos. They show a prototype sedan out driving with what seems like production bodywork and minimal camouflage.

Looking at this prototype, it seems to match up well with the patent renderings. It has a longer, flatter nose with wide headlights. The trunk lid is more defined from the rear pillar. The taillights are also wide and thin compared with the funky boomerang lights of the current model. And in general, the Civic is looking more like a mini Accord. The proportions look better in real life than in the drawings, with the overhangs not looking quite so extreme.

Acura Mdx Next-generation Suv Teased With Images Of Luxury Interior

Acura MDX next-generation SUV teased with images of luxury interior

After teasing us with an exterior image of the fourth-generation Acura MDX a week ago, Acura has now followed up with images of the interior. The exterior teaser was done up in "Tron" style, but these interior shots go beyond outlines to reveal some details that are much less obscured.

Acura promises the MDX will be the "most premium and performance-focused" version of the SUV yet and has earned "elevated status" as the brand's flagship. (Only about 1,000 of the RLX were sold in North America last year, vs. 52,000 of the MDX, so it seems the big sedan got demoted as flagship. Aw.)

Xperia Play 2: New Images Show What Might Have Been

Xperia PLAY 2: New images show what might have been

Sony Ericsson's pedigree of early Android smartphone launches really set the scene of why so many fans were loyal to the brand. Back in 2010, manufacturers were delivering Android phones in all shapes and sizes, partly why the smartphone space was so interesting. This compares to now where many phones look the same, save for the inclusion of a notch, hole punch or varying bezel sizes.

More images of the Xperia 5 II leak; showing Black and Grey colours

Evan Blass (@evleaks) has revealed a couple of new images of the Sony Xperia 5 II, which is expected to be formally introduced on 17 September. He had already revealed an image of the blue variant a few days ago, and he has now released high-resolution renders of the black and grey versions too. This is a similar colour palette that hit the original Xperia 5 last year – although the Xperia 5 also came in a red option too, which does not seem to be present with the Xperia 5 II.

Nissan Previews Next-gen Frontier Pickup In First Official Images

Nissan previews next-gen Frontier pickup in first official images

Nissan released a video today previewing and confirming the next-gen Z car. We got to see a shadowy silhouette of Nissan's upcoming sports car — find all the details on that here — but we also got a preview of many other future Nissan products. Most notable among the line of products rolling by us was the first look at Nissan's next-gen Frontier pickup.

We've heard scads of information about this truck coming our way, but this is the first time Nissan has shown what it's going to look like. The differences are clear as day. The front nose no longer slopes downward when viewed in profile, appearing like most upright truck faces do these days. Two proud twin strips of LED lighting bring it up to date with a signature look, and the hood features multiple muscular lines. Viewed from the side like this, we're getting Toyota Tacoma vibes from its blocky shape and brawny lines.

2021 Acura Tlx Patent Images Show It Looks Much Like Type S Concept

2021 Acura TLX patent images show it looks much like Type S concept

Acura brought its Type S concept to last year's Monterey Car Week as a glimmer of what we could expect from the all-new TLX coming next year. Since then, we've had better glimpses of the sedan in unintended leaks, the first in Acura's own infotainment system, now in patent images from the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Discovered by French forum Worldscoop, the details in the grayscale drawings match the color image from the infotainment software, giving us another look at hotly anticipated sedan that will infuse much-needed excitement into Acura's lineup. Even though the images show rear bumper cutouts plenty large enough to house quad pipes, the patent is presumed to show the standard TLX trim, not the Type S trim we know is coming.

Even so, we can see plenty of Type S concept influence even with the less aggressive bodywork, such as the narrower upper grille and more pronounced lower grille, the garnish on the lower intakes, the side mirror design, and flared rear fenders. The rear end in the patent shows the same taillamps and decklid shutline, aero vents in the bumper, and the reshaped license plate holder moved from the trunk to the bumper.

Production Nissan Ariya Crossover Ev Shown In Leaked Patent Images

Production Nissan Ariya crossover EV shown in leaked patent images

When Nissan unveiled the Ariya concept in October in Tokyo, it said the electric crossover would not only go into production, but was pretty much the same deal buyers would find in showrooms. Now, new images purportedly pulled from Argentina's patent office appear to back that up.

Instagram account @cars_secrets spilled the beans with a series of rough black-and-white renderings, similar to those ones found recently showing the next-generation Rogue, that look almost indistinguishable from the Ariya concept EV. The only thing that suggests this remains more concept than production model is the lack of side mirrors.

2021 Nissan Rogue Shown Sans Disguise In Leaked Images

2021 Nissan Rogue shown sans disguise in leaked images

Nissan has already re-affirmed its commitment to launching an all-new version of its venerable Rogue crossover this fall, and new images purporting to be that vehicle have surfaced on a French web forum, giving us our best look yet at the automaker's best-selling model, inside and out.

So far we've seen the new Rogue in camouflage and crude black-and-white digital renderings from a patent filing in Brazil. The new images, from the Worldscoop forum, line up pretty closely to the latter images. They show a crossover that appears to have been hitting the gym since its last refresh in 2017, with more athletic lines and angles, a larger V-motion grille, redesigned headlights and a more upright, boxy rear end with a pronounced silver skid plate and more extensive plastic cladding.

Leaked Patent Images Reveal New 2021 Nissan Rogue

Leaked patent images reveal new 2021 Nissan Rogue

Nissan is planning to introduce the next-generation Rogue before the end of 2020, but the Brazilian government appears to have ruined its surprise. Patent images published online by the country's Ministry of Economy give us an excellent look at the company's next crossover several months before we're supposed to see it.

The images suggest stylists moved the Rogue -- which is known as the X-Trail in some global markets, including Brazil -- in a brawnier direction. Its front end looks taller and more upright, and it falls in line with Nissan's current design language by gaining thinner lights and thick u-shaped trim that underlines the grille. Out back, its hatch is more sculpted than the current model's and its lights are smaller. The basic proportions don't change.
