2023 Acura Integra officially getting a manual transmission

When the 2023 Acura Integra was announced, we at Autoblog put together a wish list of sorts for the new entry-level sport sedan (er, hatchback). One of those wishes has been granted as Acura has announced that a manual transmission will be available.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Phev Shown, Full Details Coming October 28

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV shown, full details coming October 28

The wait for details on the plug-in hybrid 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander are almost over. The company has been promising the model for quite a while, and it has been tight-lipped about details. But on October 28, the company will reveal nearly all before the SUV's U.S. launch in the second-half of 2022. In the meantime, Mitsubishi released photos of the plug-in model.

As you can plainly see, it looks pretty much identical to the non-hybrid variant. The only real exception are the large hybrid badges placed on the doors and on the hatch. The white example in the photos also showcases a black contrast roof that's seemingly unavailable on non-hybrid Outlanders. The interior is also virtually unchanged.

2023 Acura Integra Looks A Little Civic - Like In Spy Photos

2023 Acura Integra looks a little Civic-like in spy photos

After a couple of fairly revealing teasers, we finally have a good look at what seems to be the real-life 2023 Acura Integra. It comes to us via a member of IntegraForums.com, and, certainly a number of the styling cues match up to the teasers, but we're also detecting a bit of Civic influence. Of course, that wouldn't be a surprise considering the size of the upcoming Integra, or even the model's history.

Up at the front, the Integra is Acura business as usual. It has the hawk-eye headlights and wide pentagonal grille with a sort of starburst grille mesh. The hood has nice creases and curves that flow into the front fascia.

2022 Toyota 4runner Review | The Old Boy's Back Again

2022 Toyota 4Runner Review | The old boy's back again

First the Earth cooled and shortly thereafter Toyota introduced the current generation of the 4Runner. OK, so it's not that old, but in car terms, 13 years ago might as well be prehistoric. Now, the 2022 Toyota 4Runner does benefit from key updates done in recent years, especially to its infotainment and safety tech, and various new trim levels were introduced to keep things fresh. For 2022, there's the new TRD Sport, which might as well be dubbed TRD On-Road with its big 20-inch wheels and adaptive suspension borrowed from the Limited.

Being ancient also isn't all bad: It has the same rugged truck-based chassis, capable suspension, ample clearances and bulletproof reliability that make it a darling among off-roaders everywhere (and keep its residual values sky-high). Its abundant interior space has also allowed it to be a realistic alternative to more family-friendly midsize crossovers. And, frankly, new cars can be awfully complicated. A simpler one will be mighty appealing to a lot of people.

TOKYO — Japan's biggest steelmaker Nippon Steel Corp said on Thursday it had filed patent infringement lawsuits against Toyota Motor Corp and China's Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd (Baosteel) with a Tokyo district court.

2023 Honda Civic Type R Interior Caught In Spy Photos

2023 Honda Civic Type R interior caught in spy photos

Just over a week ago, Honda released photos of a camouflaged Civic Type R, giving us a pretty clear look at the hot hatchback. Now, one of our spy photographers caught a similarly covered prototype in the wild, and got more angles and close-ups of some of the car's details. These shots also give us our first look at the interior.

The interior is definitely the highlight, since we haven't had a peek before. That said, it's kind of what you expect. Most of the interior is the same as a regular Civic, save for a couple of upgraded parts. It has huge, heavily bolstered and vivid red sport seats. We can also make out the Type R logo embroidered in the headrest. It also gets the trademark spun aluminum shift knob and a faux suede steering wheel. There are other red details such as in the stitching and the seatbelts.

2022 Lexus Lx 600 Brings The New Land Cruiser To America

2022 Lexus LX 600 brings the new Land Cruiser to America

Toyota fans have been disappointed by the fact the 300-series Land Cruiser isn't coming to the U.S. But the good news is that its Lexus-badged twin will still make the trip. The 2022 Lexus LX 600 is based on the new Toyota, but with the typical styling and feature updates to make it an even more plush luxury SUV.

With the Land Cruiser as the basis, the LX 600 is basically the same under the skin. It's powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 making 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The platform is the TNGA-F, and it uses body-on-frame construction. Suspension design is double-wishbone at the front with a four-link solid rear axle. The Lexus features adjustable ride height and suspension stiffness. The former adjusts automatically between low for easier access, normal for pavement driving and two lifted heights for off-roading. And to assist with off-roading, the Lexus gets Crawl Control off-road cruise control, multiple terrain modes including an automatic one, and surround cameras that even show under the truck to help avoid banging together rocks and vulnerable parts of the car.

2000 - 2006 Toyota Tundra | Used Vehicle Spotlight

2000-2006 Toyota Tundra | Used vehicle spotlight

Lots of Americans love the idea of owning a pickup truck, especially a large model like the Toyota Tundra, but don't really want to be stuck driving one on an everyday basis. The plus and minus columns are familiar to just about everyone. Unmatched usefulness, stout powertrains and the ability to tow and haul large goods all stand out as strong positives. On the downside, fullsize trucks are huge — overkill for a large percentage of buyers — don't get great gas mileage, and tend to be expensive on the used market.

The first generation of the Toyota Tundra sought to bridge the gap between ultimate capability and manageable size. In terms of sales, it didn't exactly set the world on fire — American buyers voted with their wallets and proclaimed that bigger is better, which is why the most recent Tundra for 2022 is just as big as its domestic counterparts. But those who just want solid utility, strong reliability and decent resale value have good reason to consider a 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra.

Honda Shows Off E:n Sub - Brand's Evs For China, And Maybe Elsewhere

Honda shows off e:N sub-brand's EVs for China, and maybe elsewhere

Honda certainly has an interesting electric car strategy in the works. Or arguably multiple strategies. It's currently selling the incredibly charismatic Honda E hatchback in Europe and Japan. For the U.S., it's leaning on GM, with a couple of models coming for 2024, the first of which has been named Prologue. And for China, it has a whopping 10 models planned to launch in the next five years. Now Honda has shown a couple of those production models, and, perhaps more interesting, three concepts that hint at what's coming.

All of these electric Hondas for China will be sold under the sub-brand of e:N. The first production ones are called e:NS1 and e:NP1. They're very clearly based on the Honda HR-V subcompact SUV and the e:Prototype concept from earlier this year.

2022 Honda Cr - V Review | The Baseline For Compact Suv Excellence

2022 Honda CR-V Review | The baseline for compact SUV excellence

So you're shopping for a compact SUV? Well, it's probably best to consider the 2022 Honda CR-V as the best place to start the search since it basically checks off all the objective, practical, sensible-shoes criteria. It has a family-friendly back seat, a massive cargo area, strong and efficient engines (especially the CR-V Hybrid), well-balanced driving dynamics, competitive pricing and features, strong safety ratings and well-regarded reliability. Its popularity will likely mean lower discounts but it'll also mean higher resale prices. Basically, for the vast majority of compact SUV buyers, and especially families, it's the smartest choice.

So why doesn't everyone just get a CR-V? Well, people buy cars for things other than objective, practical and sensible-shoes criteria. Want something that's more engaging to drive and sleeker to look at? Try the Mazda CX-5. Want something with superior technology and bolder style inside and out? Look the Hyundai Tucson's way. How about a small SUV that offers greater versatility and capability for outdoor adventures? Certain trim levels of the Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester would be better bets for getting dirty. All of the above are plenty practical in their own right as well, so it's not like you'll be sacrificing much, if anything to get something that meets your specific wants and needs more. That said, you can't really go wrong with a CR-V.

Toyota Aims To Make Up Some Lost Production As Supplies Rebound, Sources Say

Toyota aims to make up some lost production as supplies rebound, sources say

TOKYO — Toyota Motor Corp in December wants to restart production curtailed by component shortages with a rebound in shipments from pandemic-hit suppliers that may help it claw back around a third of output lost to supply disruptions, three sources familiar with the carmaker's plans said.

Toyota last month cut its production target for the financial year to end-March by 300,000 vehicles to 9 million units because rising COVID-19 infections slowed work at parts factories in Malaysia and Vietnam, compounding a global chip shortage that has forced it and other big automakers to curtail output.

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback First Drive | A Bridge To R

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback First Drive | A bridge to R

The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is what happens when the straight-A honors student gets tutored by an Ivy League professor. There might've been a few youthful, rough edges before, but add in a mature, guiding hand, and the end result surpasses your wildest expectations.

You see, even in the previous generation's curtain call, the Civic Hatchback was a smart buy. Honda, knowing how well it dominates this small hatchback market, didn't futz with a formula that's been working beautifully for the past half decade.

2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Vs. Ford F - 150 Hybrid | Comparing The I - Force Max And Powerboost Specs

2022 Toyota Tundra hybrid vs. Ford F-150 hybrid | Comparing the i-Force Max and PowerBoost specs

The 2022 Toyota Tundra's long-overdue redesign brings with it an entirely new suite of powertrains based on a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6. The most impressive variant is the range-topping hybrid which Toyota calls "i-Force Max." Whatever you choose to call it, it's going head-to-head with Ford's 2021 F-150 PowerBoost hybrid. Both make more than 400 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque, and offer five-figure towing and more than 1,500 pounds of payload capacity. And all while saving the planet! Maybe not so much, but there's certainly no downside to having two mainstream hybrid pickup trucks available. Let's see take a look at their specs to see how the Tundra and F-150 hybrids compare.
