2022 Nissan Frontier Enters Rebelle Rally With Retro Livery, Nismo Parts

2022 Nissan Frontier enters Rebelle Rally with retro livery, Nismo parts

Mitsubishi won't be the only automaker sporting a cool retro color scheme for this year's Rebelle Rally. Nissan is joining in with a 2022 Frontier that has a classic red, white and blue vinyl wrap based on the Nissan Hardbody race trucks of the 1980s. It's dead-on, but slightly updated with the new Nissan logotype down the sides, plus some Rebelle Rally and Nismo decals.

The reason for the latter is that this Frontier is decked out with a number of Nismo accessories, including 4-inch off-road lights, a cat-back exhaust, an off-road suspension kit, Axis wheels and all-terrain tires. These parts are all available from Nissan and Nismo for your own Frontier. In fact, there are even some accessories available that we're surprised weren't added to the truck, such as the steel front bumper.

Lexus Lc500 Convertible Gets Marine Blue Interior And Top ... In Japan

Lexus LC500 Convertible gets Marine Blue interior and top ... in Japan

Japanese customers of the Lexus LC will soon have a wider selection of exterior and interior colors, including a stunning Marine Blue option exclusive to the LC 500 Convertible. The announcement came on Thursday, along with news of some minor handling improvements.

The Marine Blue selection adds an tidy navy lid to the LC droptop, paired with a matching interior. However, the entire cockpit hasn't been slathered in blue. Instead, the cobalt hue has been applied judiciously to the steering wheel, dash pad, gear selector, and sections of the door panels. Most of interior is actually white, giving the two-tone cabin an elegant nautical feel.

Honda Says It's Working On Small Rockets, Electric Aircraft And Robots For The Moon

Honda says it's working on small rockets, electric aircraft and robots for the Moon

Honda builds a surprisingly diverse selection of products that includes cars, motorcycles, generators, lawn mowers and planes. It will branch out into even more sectors over the coming years by adding robots, small rockets, and a second plane.

The expansion is part of Honda's 2030 Vision of serving people worldwide with what it calls "the joy of expanding their life's potential" — even if that means putting down the snowblower (built by Honda, of course) and taking a quick jaunt to outer space. The firm explained that it wants to expand the potential of mobility in the third dimension before turning its attention to the fourth dimension, which we're told defies the constraints of time and space, and ultimately head into space.

2022 Infiniti Q60 Gets Wireless Apple Carplay. That's It.

2022 Infiniti Q60 gets wireless Apple CarPlay. That's it.

Infiniti has announced what's new for the 2022 Q60 and the list contains one item: wireless Apple CarPlay. This is after the automaker made the most minor of changes to the 2021 Q60. We can almost imagine one of the coupes sitting outside Infiniti HQ playing a particular Ray Parker, Jr. song on repeat, with the line, "If you're not sure that you want me, let me go." Thing is, the Q60's sales figures aren't bad, not far off the Chevy Camaro's numbers since the Infiniti got refreshed in 2016. Sales have plummeted this year — and so have the Camaro's — but the freefall puts the Q60 right in line with the Toyota Supra. Rumor has it that Infiniti's only going to keep its flagship coupe around until 2023 anyway, when it will embrace electrification, meaning the Q60 could continue to follow the Camaro into the sunset.

Prices for the entire range run thusly after a $1,025 destination charge:

Subaru Solterra Ev Finally Gets A Video

Subaru Solterra EV finally gets a video

Subaru's Japanese HQ released its first vid showing off the company's first EV, the Solterra, and while it's nice to finally see the crossover in motion, we're not sure why Subaru's being so flirtatious with the rollout. Everything in the video reaffirms all the evidence we have so far that this is Subaru's tweaked version of the Toyota bZ4X, and we've virtually crawled all over the Toyota already. The only mystery left is figuring out what the panel is behind the rotary knob on the center console. In every Toyota bZ4X video we've watched, there is, at most, one tiny illuminated light. In the Solterra teaser images and video, the panel is covered in lights laid out like an illuminated spreadsheet. There's also a shutline and a depression at the leading edge like it's a cover to be opened. It can't hide anything that deep, though, because of the tunnel cutout beneath.

The other notable difference in the Subaru is the seriously bolstered seats, which look like they belong in a WRX. They could just be digital units just for the video.

Japan Prosecutors Seek 2 Years In Prison For Ex - Nissan Exec Greg Kelly

Japan prosecutors seek 2 years in prison for ex-Nissan exec Greg Kelly

TOKYO — Japanese prosecutors demanded two years in prison for former Nissan executive Greg Kelly and accused him of joining a "conspiracy" to pay his former boss Carlos Ghosn illicitly in closing arguments Wednesday in a yearlong trial.

"That unpaid compensation existed is clear," prosecutor Yukio Kawasaki told the Tokyo District Court, reading briskly from a thick document.

New Acura Integra Teased, And It Looks Good

New Acura Integra teased, and it looks good

We've been expecting a number of big announcements and debuts this week, like the two-row Jeep Grand Cherokee and Rolls-Royce's "historic" announcement about electrification, both happening tomorrow. What we weren't expecting was Acura to shock us again with another Integra tease. Honda's luxury arm posted a seven-second clip to Twitter flashing the new Integra's rear-three-quarter. That tweet came with a link to a landing page at Acura's site with the image you see above.

Although the ILX features the same design language, the switch to a hatch gives us late-model Hyundai Genesis Coupe vibes. That's not a ding on the Integra, and we have faith in what's to come.

Toyota Adds Renovo Motors To Its Woven Planet R&d Group

Toyota adds Renovo Motors to its Woven Planet R&D group

TOKYO — Japanese automaker Toyota is revving up acquisitions in mobility technology, adding Renovo Motors, a Silicon Valley software developer, to its Woven Planet team, which is working on automated driving.

The addition, announced Tuesday, follows the purchase earlier this year of CARMERA, a U.S. venture that specializes in sophisticated road mapping updates made cheaper and faster by using crowdsourced information obtained from millions of net-connected Toyota vehicles.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Starts At $38,115

2022 Honda Ridgeline starts at $38,115

Honda made just two changes to the 2022 Ridgeline pickup, which is on sale now. First, there's a Sonic Gray Pearl paint that "is expected to be available starting in December." Second, there's been a $400 addition to the MSRP across the range. The new prices, including the $1,225 destination charge, are:

What everyone has noticed is the change we might have expected but didn't get: a Ridgeline TrailSport trim. The 2022 Passport broke the seal on the new rugged variants, which will become halo vehicles expressing Honda's off-road expertise. The Ridgeline seems a more natural model to take the lead onto the dirt, considering the Passport took most of its new rugged cosmetic cues from the Ridgeline's, and one branch of Honda's Factory Off-Road Team runs a Ridgeline. Well, a chassis with a Ridgeline-esque body, at least.

Chevy Corvette - Powered Subaru Brz On Cars & Bids Is Sheer Insanity

Chevy Corvette-powered Subaru BRZ on Cars & Bids is sheer insanity

One of the most common complaints about the first-generation Subaru BRZ is that it's underpowered. While some enthusiasts voice their grievances online, one took the matter into his own hands. He replaced the flat-four with a V8 sourced from a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and turbocharged it to extract every last ounce of horsepower. His one-of-a-kind build is currently for sale on auction website Cars & Bids.

Released for 2013, the original Subaru BRZ and its Scion- and Toyota-badged siblings are among the most tuner-friendly cars launched in the past decade. This build illustrates the far end of the tuning scale: yanking out the flat-four and shoehorning a V8 into the engine bay would have been quite the feat, but the seller reportedly rebuilt the engine with parts like Summit Racing pistons before bolting it all back together. Interestingly, the engine exhales through a four-inch fender-mounted exhaust outlet; it sounds as awesome as you'd expect.
