Japan confirms 103 cluster infections in a week

Japan's health ministry says coronavirus cluster infections were confirmed at more than 100 locations nationwide in the week through Monday.

The health ministry compiles weekly figures based on data from local governments.

The number of clusters increased 60 percent from the previous week to 103.

Company and government offices had the largest number, with 29, followed by eateries, with 20, and welfare facilities, with 18.

Schools and other education facilities had 11, and medical institutions had nine.

Between October 5 and November 2, clusters were confirmed at 341 sites across the country. That's nearly 20 percent of total clusters confirmed so far.
