AI provides information on coronavirus

AI technology is being used to provide information online about the new coronavirus.

The operator of the messaging application LINE set up an official health ministry account using artificial intelligence to respond to people's questions on occurrences of the virus and precautionary measures.

Registered users can also receive consultations from doctors through the account.

LINE says more than 50,000 people had signed up for the service by Friday.

LEBER, a provider of a smart phone application that allows users to receive online medical consultations from doctors, started forgoing fees for consultations on the new coronavirus.

The app allows users to chat with an automated AI service, and then receive advice from doctors a few minutes after they have entered their symptoms.
