Anti - Racism March Held In Tokyo

Anti-racism march held in Tokyo

An anti-racism march was held in central Tokyo on Sunday as part of the protest movement sparked by the death of George Floyd in US police custody last month.

The protesters included Japanese and non-Japanese people, who responded to calls on social media.

They carried placards that read "Black Lives Matter" and "Protect Human Rights" through the Shibuya Scramble Crossing and the Harajuku shopping area. They chanted for an end to discrimination based on race.

Organizers said thousands of people participated.

Floyd died in Minneapolis on May 25 as a white police officer knelt on his neck. Protest rallies erupted in the United States and spread around the world.
