Jal To Fully Reopen Domestic Terminal In Haneda

JAL to fully reopen domestic terminal in Haneda

Japan Airlines has decided to fully reopen Terminal 1 for domestic flights at Tokyo's Haneda Airport on July 1 as more passengers are beginning to travel since the state of emergency was lifted on May 25 in Japan.

The airline closed its north wing departure lobby in April after the number of passengers plunged due to the pandemic.

It had been conducting check-in and security screening services at the south wing lobby only.

Beginning July 1, all of its six security screening gates at Terminal 1 will be back in operation.

JAL is now installing thermography equipment to observe passengers' body temperatures at the two security gates in the north wing.

It says that some flights have been fully booked since the beginning of June. They operate with fewer seats because the middle seats are empty to ensure distance between passengers.

It has not been decided when Terminal 2, which is used by All Nippon Airways, Solaseed Air and other airlines for domestic flights, will be fully back in operation.
