Osaka moves to 3rd round in Australian Open

In tennis, defending champion Naomi Osaka has advanced to the third round of the Australian Open for the third straight year.

Osaka, who is No.4 in the current world rankings, beat the 42nd-ranked Zheng Saisai from China 6-2, 6-4 in Melbourne on Wednesday.

The star Japanese player began the first set in good form, handling Zheng's variety of shots.

She struggled to deal with Zhang's both quick and slow shots early in the second set, allowing the Chinese competitor to take the lead. But Osaka battled back to book her spot in the third round.

Osaka won her first Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2018, and another at the Australian Open last year.
