The number of foreign visitors to Japan in June marked a record high for the month. Tourism officials point to more travelers from mainland China mainly due to the easing of visa requirements.

The Japan National Tourism Organization estimates that 2.88 million foreigners visited Japan last month. That's up 6.5 percent from a year earlier.

They will be delighted to find out that Square Enix will finally be unveiling its Avengers game on June 10th as part of its E3 press event.

It has been confirmed that Square Enix and Marvel will be unveiling the new Avengers game at the former’s E3 press event on June 10th. It will begin at 9 PM Eastern. Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is considering a visit to Iran, apparently to ease tensions between the country and the United States. Such a visit would be the first by a Japanese prime minister since 1978.

Informed sources say Abe is thinking of making the visit in mid-June at the earliest, to meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Abe is expected to make a final decision after meeting US President Donald Trump in Tokyo on Monday.

Nintendo has confirmed its plans for the E3 convention. It’s going to be the world’s biggest gaming convention and Nintendo will have something to share as well during its E3 Direct. The company has scheduled its press event for June 11th.

The Nintendo Direct presentation for June 11th will be streamed at 12PM ET/9AM PT. Nintendo has said that the focus will entirely be on software which basically reiterates its earlier confirmation that no new Switch console will be unveiled at E3 2019.
