Xperia 1 Ii Selling Strongly In Europe; Pre - Order Freebies Downgraded
The Xperia 1 II, Sony's 2020 flagship seems to be selling very well – at least in Europe. Sony was offering the device on pre-order in Europe, which was bundled with a free pair of Sony WH-1000XM3 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones across a number of retailers and carriers.
Sony sold through its initial pre-order allocation in its official eStore within a matter of days. The Sony eStore, which was selling the Xperia 1 II in UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, was offering the WH-1000XM3 headphones but has now changed this to offer a Sony Style Cover View case instead – quite a downgrade.
Initial allocations are quickly running out across other retailers too. O2 UK said that the "order promotion has been so popular that we’ve nearly sold through our allocation of 1,750 Sony WH1000XM3 headphones". O2 UK will be offering the Sony WH-H910N Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones starting from today.
Sony often includes a pre-order freebie when it comes to its flagship device, at least in Europe, but this is the first time in a while that we’ve seen initial allocation run out so quickly. We’ve been feeling the buzz around the Xperia 1 II since it was announced, and it seems like that buzz is converting into sales which is good news for Sony, and Xperia fans alike.
