Xperia 5 Ii Promo Video Leaks + Specs

Xperia 5 II promo video leaks + specs

We have already seen a sneak peek of the Xperia 5II (Mark 2) in a recent leak, but now we got a much closer look and a near complete specification list of the device. Android Headlines has managed to leak the promotional video for the Xperia 5 II that shows the device across all angles. It confirms that, in terms of design, the Xperia 5 II will be very similar to its predecessor.

The main big changes include the welcome re-addition of the 3.5mm headphone jack, and a mysterious new button that sits close to the camera shutter key. This button is separate to the volume rocker, fingerprint sensor and dedicated camera key. It is most likely an app shortkey key, similar to the one Sony is using in the upcoming Xperia PRO.

The Xperia 5 II is also said to use a 120Hz refresh rate for the display according to Android Headlines, which will have a 240Hz touch scanning rate. If true, this would be an improvement over the Xperia 1 II which sported Motion blur reduction technology equivalent to that of 90Hz display. We hope that Sony has implemented a native 120Hz display with the Xperia 5 II.

The other main difference is a much bigger battery in the Xperia 5 II (4000mAh) versus the 3140 mAh battery in the Xperia 5. We imagine this is partly to compensate for the more power-hungry 5G support with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. The Xperia 5 II will also have 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

Sony will once again use a 12MP triple lens camera system as its predecessor, but the actual cameras seem to be different. The main camera has a 24mm F1.7 lens, with an 82-degree wide-angle view. The telephoto camera has a 3x zoom with F2.4 lens. The ultra-wide angle camera has a F2.2 lens with a 120-degree wide-angle view.

On the video recording side, the Xperia 5 II will support 4K HDR at up to 120fps. There is also OIS and EIS for Video, and Optical SteadyShot support. Other specs are similar to the Xperia 5 including a 6.1-inch 21:9 (1080 x 2520) OLED FHD+ HDR resolution CinemaWide display, microSD memory card support. It will have similar dimensions of 158 x 68 x 8mm.

Is Sony doing enough with the Xperia 5 II (Mark 2)? We’d love to hear your thoughts below.
