The last time Sony released a new God of War title for the PlayStation platform was back in 2018. However, the title released back then marked a slightly different approach Sony has taken in the past, where Kratos would be the main character. Instead, in this particular release, we saw Kratos share the spotlight with his son.

For those who love the God of War franchise and would like to see a new title, you might be in luck because towards the end of Sony’s PS5 event, a logo appeared on the screen that teased the next God of War title that would be coming to the PS5 in 2021. It will be a direct sequel to the 2018 title, but beyond the release date, not much else is known about the game for now.

Sony recently announced its PS5 where it is priced at $499 for the regular version, and $399 for the digital version. However, both versions will come with a single controller, also known as the DualSense controller, so what if you wanted to play a local co-op game with your friends? You’d need to buy a new controller.

So the question is, how much will a new DualSense controller cost you? According to Sony, DualSense controllers will be priced at $70 each. This isn’t too expensive, but it’s an additional cost you might want to take note of if you were planning on buying the PS5 and plan to play local co-op games with your friends.

Square Enix released Final Fantasy XV back in 2016, so if you think that maybe it’s about time that the company follow up with a sequel, you’ll be happy to hear that during Sony’s PS5 announcement, Final Fantasy XVI was announced alongside it as well, although not much is known about the game at the moment.

According to the announcement, the next information reveal about the upcoming game will be revealed in 2021, which means that we won’t be able to expect the game to be released this year. While there’s a chance that it could be released next year, you probably shouldn’t hold your breath until more information is made available.

As for other markets, the console will be available for the rest of the world on the 19th of November, save for China where according to Sony, “PS5 launch date for China is still under exploration and will be announced at a later date.”

In terms of pricing, it seems that the PS5 will indeed be more expensive than its predecessor. According to Sony’s pricing, the PS5 will be priced at $500 for the version that accepts discs, but if you don’t mind downloading all your games digitally, the Digital Edition of the PS5 will cost $400, so you’ll be able to save yourself $100 in the process.

If you’re an Android gamer looking for a game streaming service, you might be interested to learn that Microsoft’s Project xCloud has launched for Android. This comes in the form of Xbox Game Pass which is basically the Netflix for video games, and where unlike other streaming services like Google Stadia, gamers just need to pay a one-time subscription fee and will be able to access the games in the library.

For context, Stadia is a game streaming service similar to Xbox Game Pass, but the main difference is that Stadia is merely a platform for gamers to play games through, and that users will still need to purchase individual titles before playing them. Xbox Game Pass, however, will give users access to a library of more than 150 titles at launch, with more added further down the line.

Sony is rolling out September 2020 Android security patches for a number of devices including the Xperia 1, Xperia 5 and Xperia 10 II (Mark 2). The Xperia 1 and 5 have received an update that moves the build number to version 55.1.A.9.101, and patches from August to September 2020.

Sony is set to unveil the Xperia 5 II (Mark 2) in two days' time on 17 September 2020. Ahead of the formal release, the Xperia 5 II with model number XQ-AS72 has been certified by the Chinese regulatory firm TENAA. It shows a few handset images from a variety of angles and confirms the huge number of leaks we have already seen. You won't glean much from the pictures versus what's already been shown, but the appearance on TENAA gives another element of credence for the handset being formally unveiled on Thursday 17 September.

A report from a couple of months ago suggested that to meet the demand of gamers stuck at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, Sony could actually boost its PS5 production. However, that may no longer be the case, at least that’s according to a report from Bloomberg which suggests that Sony might actually end up producing less than expected.

The report claims that Sony might end up producing about 4 million less units than previously expected. The company had reportedly initially aimed to produce as many as 15 million units for the fiscal year, but now with the cuts, they are only expected to produce as many as 11 million units.

One of the upsides of using a mirrorless camera over a DSLR is that generally speaking, mirrorless cameras are smaller and lighter which makes them easier to carry around. Sony’s A7 series of mirrorless cameras are relatively compact, but the company does make even more compact models.

This creates a conundrum for photographers who want the power of the A7 series, but want a smaller body. Sony has since introduced a solution to that problem in the form of the newly-announced Sony A7c. This is a full-frame mirrorless camera that has been stuffed into a compact body similar to that of Sony’s A6000 series.

While the Nintendo Switch is a great console, it does have its hardware limitations compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, let alone the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. One of those limitations is its resolution, where when docked, the console will only manage to put out 1080p resolution, which pales in comparison when compared with the 4K gaming that other consoles have to offer.

However, according to a report from Bloomberg, it seems that Nintendo is getting ready to change that and have apparently told developers that they should start ensuring that their future titles for the console are 4K ready. There have been talks about a “Pro” version of the Switch and if this report is accurate, this would seem to confirm that.

If you’ve yet to hop on the Nintendo Switch bandwagon, perhaps this latest edition of the console might pique your interest. Nintendo has recently unveiled a new limited edition Switch console that has been themed around Epic’s Fortnite Battle Royale with a new design on the dock and also new Joy-Con colors.

While Fortnite Switch bundles aren’t new, this is new in the sense that we’re actually getting a brand new colorway. It looks pretty nifty and even if you’re not a fan of Fortnite or don’t play the game, the blue and yellow Joy-Cons look pretty good, especially compared to some of the louder colors available for the Switch.

If the rumors are to be believed, Sony could be working on a new full-frame mirrorless camera in the form of the Sony A7c. While it is part of the A7 family, it will apparently sport a slightly different design where it is said to look more like the Sony A6000 series rather than the A7 series.

Microsoft recently unveiled its Xbox Series S console. Priced at $299, it is one of Microsoft’s cheapest consoles to date, especially for a next-gen console, and if you were worried about performance, it seems that you might not need to worry too much. This is because according to The Verge’s Tom Warren, it will be faster than the PS5.

According to Warren, it has been confirmed by Microsoft that the Series S and the more expensive Series X will use the same CPU, albeit at different clock speeds. The Series S will be clocked at around 3.6GHz, making it about 0.1GHz faster than the PS5. Of course at such a marginal difference, gamers might not even notice, but on paper, it’s actually impressive.
