Last we saw of the redesigned 2021 Nissan Rogue was the car itself, leaked in some fuzzy but revealing photos online. Today, some details are trickling out about what's better in the new compact crossover. Power figures and fuel economy numbers were uncovered by CarsDirect, showing minor improvements to both.

The current Rogue is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Citing an early document meant for fleet customers, the report claims the new Rogue will make 180 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Those numbers are only slightly better than before, so we imagine Nissan is simply using an updated version of the current 2.5-liter four-cylinder under the hood.

US President Donald Trump has indicated that federal guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus will not be extended beyond April.

Trump spoke to reporters on Wednesday, one day before the expiration of the guidelines, which recommend people avoid nonessential outings. He said that the guidelines will be "fading out because now the governors are doing it."

THE ORAL CIGARETTES' new album "SUCK MY WORLD" will drop on April 29. To coincide with this release, the band will be setting out on a Zepp tour this summer.

With the coronavirus keeping customers out of showrooms, a number of automakers are offering extremely enticing incentives.

Toyota surprised us all with its 2021 Supra announcement a few months ago. After only one model year, the turbocharged inline-six is revised for more horsepower, and the whole chassis has been re-tuned for sharper handling. Output went from 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque, to 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. Predictably, the extra speed has resulted in slightly worse fuel economy numbers.

NHK has learned that nine of Japan's 47 prefectures have almost run out of hospital beds to treat coronavirus patients.

NHK asked prefectural governments and other entities about the number of beds they have secured and how many are occupied.

The governor of Osaka Prefecture, western Japan, is calling on people to avoid nightclubs and other spots that operate during nighttime hours as a precaution amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Yoshimura Hirofumi made the remarks to reporters on Tuesday saying that the virus could spread in entertainment establishments that operate from night until early morning.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has laid out his government's plans to fight the new coronavirus. He discussed a newly enacted law that allows him to declare a state of emergency, if needed.

Abe said "This legislation is to prepare for emergencies. When the administration determines whether to declare a state of emergency, that would put restraint on various private rights. It will seek for recommendation from experts in making the decision carefully. Currently, the number of infections is still rising. However, the increase speed is slower compared with other countries where the speed of infection in accelerating. Given the situation, it is not necessary to declare a state of emergency now."

Japanese government officials are preparing to send out over 2.5 million face masks from their stockpiles to medical and other facilities facing a serious shortage due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The government decided to release the masks out of some 6.4 million kept at ministries and agencies in case of disasters or other emergencies.

More than 1,000 care facilities across Japan responded to a survey over the weekend by the Nippon Careservice Craft Union.
